Motorcyclist caught more than doubling the speed limit in Les Cèdres

At the end of the evening July 1, Sûreté du Québec police officers from the Vaudreuil-Dorion highway patrol division intercepted a motorcycle traveling at an excessive speed on Autoroute 20 in Les Cèdres sector. The driver was picked up while traveling at 240 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.

The driver, a 30-year-old male, received a ticket of $2,566 with 30 demerit points. His driver's license was suspended for a period of seven days.

The Sûreté du Québec is reminding motorists that speed is one of the primary causes of fatal collisions to occur on the roads of Quebec.
