Vaudreuil MNA Marie-Claude Nichols (fourth from left) is collaborating with Le Zèbre Rouge to help out young families in her riding by offering free recycled children’s bikes.

Vaudreuil MNA Marie-Claude Nichols recently announced a special collaboration with Le Zèbre Rouge allowing young children in the riding of Vaudreuil to receive a recycled bicycle absolutely free.

This partnership with the community organization allows young families to acquire free of charge one of the 100 specially selected bicycles, with a wheel height of 12 to 20 inches, in addition to financially supporting the newly installed organization in their new premises.

Le Zèbre Rouge offers a social integration and employment integration program to increase autonomy, skills and adaptation to the labour market to young adults with mental health problems with or without intellectual or physical limitations.

From August 24 to September 12, 2020, families will be able to go directly to the Zèbre Rouge boutique located at 115 chemin De Lotbinière in Vaudreuil-Dorion and children will be able to choose from among the many available bikes. Interested families must present proof of residence confirming that people live in one of the seven cities of the riding of Vaudreuil – namely Île-Cadieux, Île-Perrot, Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot, Pincourt, Terrasse-Vaudreuil, Vaudreuil-Dorion and Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac.

“By supporting Le Zèbre Rouge, Ms. Nichols helps provide the program’s participants the chance to develop professional skills that are essential to their success in the workforce,” said the organization’s President Gilles Boyer. “Above all, we appreciate this solidarity and support for our mission and I sincerely thank you for it.”

"This association is a perfect fit,” said Nichols. “It allows us to bring a little respite to our young families in these difficult times, to protect our environment, and financially support an organization whose community mission, mental health, is close to my heart.”
