A special vote thanks goes out to Georgia and Doug Jesty for their great job at cleaning up the two gardens at Place Vimy recently. Mike Elliott has now ordered some chrysanthemums that will be planted as soon as they arrive sometime before the end of the month. We will have some extras to sell off as well. The new Vimy Oak is doing well too.
As ever, the health and welfare of our members are essential to us. For the reopening of our Branch #115, we will therefore apply public health measures put in place by the provincial government. We hope to offer you an environment where you will have the chance to interact socially and entertain yourself while taking in account social distancing, physical separation (Plexiglas) at the bar, implementation of procedures reducing close contacts, and use of personal protection (face mask). The details relating to the application of these measures will be communicated to you in the coming weeks.
We would like, however, to remind you all that these community measures were developed to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and that ‘Zero-risk’ doesn’t exist. The success of these measures relies in large part on the individual and collective respect of the rules. Consequently, please note that any derogation to the rules we will establish will result in the immediate closing of the bar and the branch.
Added to these collective responsibilities is your own level of risk according to: your age, your health status, and the prevalence of the virus in the region. As alternative sources of social interactions and alcohol are available, it becomes your individual responsibility to evaluate the risk for you and your close entourage.
The new Place Vimy Park bench should be here before the end of the month. We will have a short dedication and you will be all advised of course. It is being paid by two wonderful donors who will be announced at the ceremony.
Lest we forget…
