Happy 95th birthday Dorothy!

Dorothy Gurden was born in Hudson on August 17, 1925 in a small white house (since demolished) beside St. James’ Church. She lived through the Great Depression, was 14 years old when WWII began and 20 when it finished. She worked as a bookeeper in Montreal and took the train form the Hudson Heights station every day, when very few women did that. She can still recount the local stores and their names from Mullan’s to Blenkinship and back. She lives independently and is a joy to be around.
In this photo, Frank Royle (pictured) and David Langlois visited on Monday and sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to the lovely lady.
