Help needed for A Horse Tale Hay drive

A Horse Tale Rescue (along with Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec) are in a hay crisis shortage this year.

The not-for-profit organization located in Vaudreuil-Dorion is dedicated to providing a safe, comfortable, and loving environment for the horses that pass through their gates. They promote rehabilitation and, when possible, facilitate rehoming. For some, A Horse Tale remains their forever home.

Last year’s hay supply was bad, but this year they’ve received only 30 per cent of their total yearly needs to get through to next summer compared to where they should be at about 80 per cent and the organizers say the situation is drastic.

They’re kicking off their Hay Drive to help raise funds as they look for suppliers out of province, etc. but low yields and high demand will skyrocket prices from their regular budgeted $4/bale to up to $10/bale.

Before end of September they will need approximately 2000 bales of hay to get their horses to next year. At $10/bale the math is clear.
