Concerts can also be enjoyed through virtual means – Montreal musician Briga will be showcased in Vaudreuil-Dorion’s jesuismozaik.com concert series on July 28.

The Rythmes d’été Summer Concert Series concludes this year with singer Briga, who will be giving a virtual concert to be webcast on the jesuismozaik.com website July 28 at 7:30 p.m.

Although the Montreal musician, the daughter of a Québécois mother and a Polish father, will not be able to meet the public, she will nevertheless be able to share with them her love of world music. Since the audience will not be able to attend the show in person because of the current situation, they will be able to watch the performance online.

Bewitching music

Winner of the Galaxie Rising Star Award and nominated for the Juno Awards, ADISQ and the

Canadian Folk Music Awards, Briga delivers a style that is both down to earth and colorful, and part traditional and cross-cultural at the same time. The artist we have had the pleasure of hearing with the Gitans de Sarajevo finds inspiration in the sounds of Eastern Europe. Her music is a mix of Turbo Folk songs, wrapped together with Groove from the Balkans and the Maghreb region.

With four albums under her belt (Diaspora, Turbo Folk Stories, Wake and Femme), and concerts across Canada, the United States and Europe, Briga plans to unveil her new album, Territoire, in the fall.

On Tuesday, July 28 at 7:30 p.m., the public will have the opportunity to travel across great oceans to hear music from faraway places, beautifully interpreted by a local artist.
