Social distancing was maintained while the Gymini gymnastics club members were able to hold their G-Force cheerleading gala in Hudson’s Thompson Park the end of June.

A gala of sports merit for G-Force cheerleading athletes was held June 26. A total of 60 athletes and their relatives and friends came together to celebrate the progress and successes and the determination of the athletes during the 2019-2020 season. In keeping with COVID-19 directives, the families all respected social distancing during this event.

The cheerleading season ended abruptly this year following the pandemic depriving our teams from participating in certain competitions including the Niagara Falls National Championships as well as an international competition in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, for our elite Rogue team.

A new concept

The G-Force team, under the leadership of Vanessa Ringuette, coordinator of the cheerleading sector, has shown great adaptability and creativity. With numerous restrictions on gatherings, the team chose to hold a picnic gala at Thompson Park in Hudson to comply with all government directives. Each athlete has been recognized for a specific skill or quality. At G-Force, the athletes are passionate, determined, attentive, enduring, efficient, energetic, committed, persevering, positive and respectful and their parents are their greatest admirers.

Congratulations to the nominees

Each team was able to recognize the athlete with the best improvement and the best team spirit, as well as to recognize an athlete who stood out particularly well within the team during the season. G-Force congratulates Armania Beaudoin (Gravity), Bailey Santos (Galaxy), Maxim Brisson (Troopers), Océane Cadieux (Rogue) and Arielle Dionne (Goldies) for their title of athlete of the year in their respective group. Special congratulations to our three athletes who stood out significantly with the whole association, Isabelle Bertrand, our rising star 2019-2020; Alexandre Ratté, our shooting star 2019-2020; and Océane Cadieux, our ‘spirit of G-Force ‘for their hard work and undeniable team spirit.

Thanks from the heart

G-Force would like to thank the athletes who put their hearts and all their energy on the training and competition mat. We also wish to warmly thank the parents who are always present for their athletes and who bring the G-Force experience to the ‘fan zone’ at all competitions. Finally, we would like to thank the coaches from the bottom of our hearts who have invested all their energy in creating unforgettable memories for their athletes. A big thank you to everyone for your dedication and, above all, your flexibility in these uncertain times.Gymini and G-force in summer period.
