After seeing my granddaughter interviewed on television news as she explained why the boutique in downtown Ottawa where she works has implemented a compulsory wearing of masks for their clientele, I wonder why more of our local businesses do not insist on this, especially the grocery stores.
Most of my friends are only happy to follow this rule and after recently witnessing a customer having a severe coughing fit – albeit into their elbow but not wearing a mask – several of those around expressed the wish that masks were mandatory in the store. Is it such a big deal to wear a mask while shopping?
It shows you care about protecting those around you from any possible infection and if we all did this then we would be better able to prevent a second wave of COVID-19.
Some forward-looking local stores are enforcing this rule and ‘hats-off’ to them – others please follow suit!
Respectfully and safely,
