For its next tax clinic, the Centre d'action bénévole L’Actuel will innovate by opening two evenings a week for workers and students only. L’Actuel is offering its tax service for the year 2019 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and from 1 to 3:30 p.m., from March 3 to April 29. This service is offered, without appointment, to low-income people, $26,000 or less for a single person, $34,000 for a couple or $28,000 for an adult with a child (for each additional child $2,000).

A majority of people using the tax service are seniors and people who are out of the workforce for various reasons. However, L’Actuel has noted in recent years that there are many workers and students eligible for the service. Also new this year, a contribution of $5 is suggested to users to cover administration costs.

The L’Actuel tax clinic will take place on the second floor at 88 rue Adèle (an elevator for people with reduced mobility is available in the Boutique-Friperie at 90 rue Adèle). Users of the service must bring all their statements and the necessary proof, including the Relevé 31 for tenants and the tax statement for building owners.
