Mayor Nicholls back on the job

Hudson Mayor Jamie Nicholls is back at work after a roughly seven-week absence. He’s pictured above (left) in a file photo with Hudson Director General Philip Toone, who confirmed that the mayor has returned to work and will be resuming all of his regular duties, and staff has been informed.
In a letter sent before the December 2 council meeting, Nicholls had announced his intention to step back temporarily, citing divisions and stresses caused by his personal attachment to a vision for the town.
Having had some time away he is now returning and, reached just before press time, told The Journal, “I’m happy to be back working together with my colleagues on council, and feeling positive about the direction of the town.”
