Sûreté du Québec officers from the Vaudreuil-Soulanges east detachment, assisted by police from the intervention tactical group, officers from the judicial identity service, and canine handlers conducted a search of a house located in a mostly commercial district on route Harwood near Henry-Ford Road in Vaudreuil-Dorion the morning of January 22.
SQ spokesperson Sgt. Ingrid Asselin reports four men aged 45, 52, 58 and 66 were arrested on the spot and were questioned by investigators. The investigation was launched a few months ago targeting drug trafficking.
Of the four men who were arrested, three remained in custody the same afternoon and will appear before a judge at the Valleyfield Courthouse in the coming days. They could face, among other infractions, charges of drug trafficking, possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, careless storage of firearms, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling it.
The search allowed the police to seize nearly 900 tablets similar to methamphetamine, more than 25 grams of a substance resembling cocaine, approximately 450 grams of cannabis, more than $1,300 in cash, a prohibited weapon, seven handguns that were poorly stored, and equipment used for drug trafficking.
