Need a last minute gift idea? Haven't even started your shopping yet? Go local this year, there are a number of craft and artisan events happening in our region before the holidays. Help make Christmas a little greener this year.

An Artisan Sale will be held Saturday, December 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Valois United Church, 70 Belmont Avenue in Pointe-Claire. This is a sale of handmade crafts of 20 artisans, home baking, meat pies, quilts, used books, knit and sewn items and crafts. Muffins and beverages served in the Tea Room until 11:30 a.m. and then hearty soup lunch will be available for lunch until 1 p.m. More info at www.valoisunited.ca or (514) 697-0651.

The fourth annual Saint-Lazare Christmas Market takes place December 7 – 8 with 45 exhibitors offering locally made objects and gifts, also features holiday décor and music, food products, and various activities including a show and story time for children. A Christmas Bazaar/Craft Fair takes place Saturday, December 7 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Dorion Evangelical Church, 490 rue Chicoine in Vaudreuil-Dorion featuring many assorted handcrafted items including evergreen wreaths, artisan wood crafts, knitted items, Christmas decor, attic finds, gift baskets, preserves, and baked goods-to-go. We invite you to stay and have tea/coffee and some home baking. Enjoy the festive ambiance with a loved one or friend. One day only.
