Ferry fines
Dear Editor,
I was surprised to read that the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) was handing out tickets to drivers trying to pass the long line of illegally stopped vehicles waiting for the ferry (Hudson ferry traffic fuels frustration, The Journal, October 17).
If the no stopping signs are not enforceable by the SQ then what is the point of the by-law? If they are enforceable why didn't the SQ ticket the line of stopped drivers blocking the road? I would be interested to have Mayor Nicholl's reaction.
