Tweed abounds for the hounds

Last Sunday, September 29 saw the first annual ‘Tweed Ride’ that took place in Hudson. Organized by Andrew and Millie Marren, the ride is a fundraiser in support of the Old Port Bassets - the only pack of Basset Hounds in Canada.

Riders set off from The Willow Inn all dressed in their best tweed outfits. Stops along the way included Sauvé’s Restaurant, Pop Culture and several local residents’ gardens for snacks and a sampling of beverages. There was even an unscheduled stop at Que De Bonnes Choses. The ride finished back at The Willow Inn for a traditional afternoon tea.

Thank you to Sarah Cole Cider and Cloud Wine for generously sponsoring the event.

Were you lucky enough to spot the riders? There were many cheers from motorists and pedestrians along the way!
