Letter to the editor 2, Sept. 26, 2019
Hudson’s Greenwood Centre for Living History would like to send a huge thank-you to everyone who made our Treasures in the Attic event such a success! The importance of the funds this event raises for Greenwood cannot be overestimated and we are so grateful to the many people who ensured that this could happen again this year!
Enormous thanks to all the volunteers who took part in the day’s events: Julia and Richard Curry, and Dana Vindasius for their enormous effort in managing all the vintage sale items, not only on Saturday but all year; Audrey Gray for taking care of all the appraisers and more; June Kendall and her team of Carol Durham, Brenda Cassidy and Georgia Jared for their extraordinary effort in creating more than 50 mile-high apple pies; Donna Seaman, Carol Durham and Fran De Lallo for making scones; Hudson’s Le Verger for their kind permission to use their kitchen; St. Mary’s Church Hall; Barb Gibb and her team of Kathy Leech, Dorrit Jannsens, and Penny Gibb and all the wonderful student volunteers of Westwood Junior High School. Grateful thanks to Grace and Ashley Thom, Jeanna McClintock, Susan Gilmore, Linda Cobbett, Frankie Elliott, Jane Havard, Jean Konecny, Sue Clements, Sandy Racicot-Day, Diane Ratcliffe, Katie Miller, Alison Vincent, Alexa Bower - our wonderful volunteers who ensured the day went without a hitch.
Very special thanks go to the appraisers of our ‘antiques roadshow’: Kevin Colgan, Victor Isganaitas, Peter McDonald, Maureen Trudel-Decelles and Norm Decelles, Ross and Margaret Wilson, and Wilfrid de Freitas and Susan Ravdin.
And thank-you to all the people who came out to our event and took part in some way. Your support of Greenwood is so very much appreciated!
