1812 Living History Weekend

The Glengarry Pioneer Museum, east of Ottawa, is holding the 10th annual 1812 Living History Weekend September 21-22 and invites everyone to step back in time to see the sights and sounds of life during the War of 1812. There will be guided tours along with a variety of demonstrations such as swordsmanship, axe throwing, stone carving, tinsmithing, blacksmithing, baking in a mud oven, and more. Living history reenactors from all over Ontario, Quebec and the United States will recreate life as it was in Upper and Lower Canada. Vendors will be offering an array of historical reproductions and clothing, leather goods, cast-iron cookware, maple syrup, fresh vegetables and fruit for sale. The 10th Anniversary edition of the Battle of Glengarry is the last big event of the 2019 season at the museum and all buildings will come alive as reenactors portray various aspects of civilian, business, and military life in this region during the War of 1812 time period. More info is available at www.glengarrypioneermuseum.ca or by calling (613) 527-5230. Join us at 1645 County Road 30, Dunvegan, Ontario.
