Harvest Fall Festival

Again this summer, organizers at the Glengarry Pioneer Museum have been busy finalizing details for the 20th annual Harvest Fall Festival des récoltes on Sunday, September 8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come enjoy the apple pie contest, heaviest zucchini contest, and rooster crowing contest, just to name a few where prizes will be awarded for the best crowing, human and fowl, and the handsomest rooster. There will also be a children’s tent with a colouring contest, crafts, and a variety of relay races for all ages to enjoy. In addition to the display of Frost & Wood implements, there will be several other agricultural demonstrations taking place including threshing and baling. Further exhibits focus on heritage livestock, horse-drawn wagons, and a wide assortment of delicious home-baked goods, plants, produce, and much more. Admission is $10, with kids under 12 free, or $25 for families. If you are a member of the museum, admission is only $5. The Glengarry Pioneer Museum is located in Dunvegan, Ontario on County Road 24 at the crossroad with County Road 30. Parking is available on the road, or nearby in the Presbyterian Church parking lot. Accessible parking is also available.
