Cost effective?

Dear Editor,

A supposed couple of the police squad came to my door last week.

Their intent was to, “…inspect our house for adequate fire-alarms.”

I did not ask for this service and I did not admit them into the house. They seemed to be on foot. If this is a legitimate activity I do not approve of no-doubt exorbitant public expense for these pedestrian wanderers through the day when most houses are vacant anyway.

Perhaps something more useful could be implemented for these people with not enough to do. Perhaps the hiring of this extra personnel is not necessary and we could save municipal funds by cutting down on staff.

Just sayin'.
