Officer Cadet Frédérique Santerre of Vaudreuil-Dorion, pauses during early morning practice as part of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) rowing crew during the Henley Royal Regatta at Henley-on-Thames, England, this July.
OCdt Santerre, who attended Collège Sainte-Anne de Lachine and was a member of le Club de natation les Citadins, is a member of the CAF crew comprised of officer cadets and recent graduates of the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) where she is a student. She is entering the third year of an undergraduate degree in Physics and Space Science at RMC and looks forward to becoming an Air Combat Systems Officer when she graduates.
The CAF crew will compete in the King’s Cup event at the Henley Royal Regatta against military crews from Australia, France, New Zealand, UK, USA, Germany and the Netherlands. The event commemorates the centenary of a race last held in 1919 featuring crews comprised primarily of soldiers waiting to return home from the First World War.
