Celebrates the 25th anniversary of the two towns’ merger

The Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion official unveiled the mural on the water tower June 5, a major artistic project that is part of the festivities surrounding the 25th anniversary of the merger of Vaudreuil and Dorion.

This water tower development project began last year as citizens of all ages participated in a brainstorming session to inspire artists mandated to create the huge fresco. The collective ASHOP, in collaboration with the organization non-profit KOLAB, took all the input into consideration to create the work which now covers the imposing structure.

"It's a pride for the city council, but also for all citizens, to see this beautiful mural at the entrance of our city,” said Mayor Guy Pilon. “We have been working for several years to revitalize the Harwood - Lotbinière sector. The water tower has always been part of the visual of the Dorion sector and today, it’s definitely a calling-card.”

The project, which also includes a digital projection component, is made possible thanks to le ministère de la Culture et des Communications du Québec.
