The ‘Off The Wall Art Sale’ held March 30 at the Hudson Community Centre was a resounding success. The War Memorial Library Shop -The Bunker hosted a day-long sale of donated art work, all sold at bargain prices in order to raise money for the library as well as more than a dozen local charities.
The success of this event is due to many people – the curators of the show who spent numerous hours researching and preparing the nearly 200 pieces; the volunteers who helped set up and take down the show as well as those who spent the day hosting the event and selling raffle tickets; Greenwood Centre for Living History, May’s Studio and the many artists who loaned us their easels so we could display the art, and certainly not least the hundreds of people who turned up at the door throughout the day to support us and to purchase some amazing art work. A huge thank you to you all.
The raffle for the beautiful carved wooden fruit bowl was won by Louise Levesque. Lucky lady!
We look forward to doing this again in another year and will welcome your donations of art at the Library Shop, side entrance, 60 Elm Street, Hudson, whenever you wish.
Thank you from Library Shop Bunkerettes
