Alexander von Humboldt German International School will be presenting a theatre performance of ‘Der Grimmsche Märchensalat’ based on the famous Grimm Brothers’ fairy tales. Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm published a book of fairy tales in 1812 which made them famous. The collection of enchanting – sometimes spine-chilling stories – such as Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Rapunzel and Rumpelstiltskin inspired authors and filmmakers all over the world, especially Walt Disney. The Grimm Brothers’ fairy tales also inspired the German author Doreen Greschketo to conduct an experiment – What happens when you take classic fairy tales and rework them with the technical and linguistic achievements of modern times? A “Crazy mix of fairy tales” is the result featuring 26 students from Grades 9 to 12. Join us March 20 at 7:30 p.m. and March 21 at 6 p.m. at 216 Victoria Street in Baie d'Urf. Free admission!
