In an effort to raise funds for the Hudson Fire Department’s annual Christmas Basket Drive the Grade 6 class at Mount Pleasant Elementary School has spent the last month hard at work, making crafts to sell at this year’s Mount Pleasant Craft Fair.
Lead by a class parent and her son Jack Guilbault, the children had weekly meetings where they brainstormed what to make, the supplies they would need and the teams they would break into.
After a long day manning their booth, they were able to raise a total of $425.
Throughout the project the children displayed nothing but maturity, kindness and consideration for others. Their team spirit and support of one another was a true display of what the season is all about. They were rewarded with the opportunity to directly hand their donation to Firefighter and Christmas Basket Organizer, Dawn Croydon, who took the time to come into their class and accept their donation as well as to thank them on behalf of the whole community.
A big thank-you also goes out to the Mount Pleasant staff and all the class parents who put time and effort into the initiative.
