Vaudreuil-Dorion man arrested for child pornography On November 28, the Sûreté du Québec's Major Crime Investigation Department arrested a man in Vaudreuil-Dorion related to child pornography. Jassen Cowan, 21, appeared that day at the Valleyfield Courthouse to face four counts of distributing and possessing child pornography. The police conducted a search of the suspect's home and computer equipment was seized for analysis. Since 2010, the Sûreté du Québec has had a structure that allows it to benefit from the expertise of more than 250 investigators trained to investigate the sexual exploitation of children on the Internet. These investigators are located throughout Quebec and support the Sûreté du Québec's Team of Investigations into the Sexual Exploitation of Children on the Internet. Arson arrests made Investigators at the Vaudreuil-Soulanges West detachment yesterday arrested a 46-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman November 1 on rue Principale in Rivière-Beaudette in connection with a break and enter and arson that occurred during the summer. They were arrested the morning of November 28 in Valleyfield, remained in custody and appearing November 29 at the Valleyfield Courthouse. They could face charges of break and enter, theft, and arson. On November 1, at around 4 a.m., police officers were asked to assist firefighters with a fire that broke out in a commercial garage on rue Principale Street in Rivière Beaudette which resulted in significant damage to the business. No one was hurt. A fire scene technician from the Sûreté du Québec went to the scene to determine the cause of the fire and the investigation determined it was a criminal fire.
