Emily Romancew, a student at John Abbott College in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, won the PING CCAA (Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association) National Golf Championship last week at Desert Blume Golf Club in Medicine Hat, Alberta.

The tournament was played over four challenging rounds, where Emily both started and finished at the top of the leaderboard after shooting 75 in each of the first three rounds, and a strong 73 on the final day. That left her with an overall +10 score of 298, and put her a solid six strokes ahead of the second-place finisher.

"Winning a national award and being able to say we have a national title for John Abbott is amazing. I think I played really well and I'm really satisfied with my overall week," she said after the tournament.

On top of the individual women’s championship, Emily was also awarded a tournament all-star along with two others from the women’s side. A true champion’s performance on the links for this college athlete.
