Now in its 17th year, the continued success of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Salon de l’Emplois unites empolyers and job seekers and this year’s focus is on encouraging residents to seek employment options closer to home.

Job seekers looking for local work opportunities will be able to meet with representatives of about 40 different companies at the upcoming 17th edition of the Salon de l’emploi Vaudreuil-Soulanges on Wednesday, October 3. The event will be held from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Pavillon sur la lac du Château-Vaudreuil; 21,700 Route Transcanadienne in Vaudreuil-Dorion.

The theme of this year’s Salon is titled One Step in Your Region, which encourages commuters who work outside of Vaudreuil-Soulanges to seek employment options closer to home. Patrick Bousez, Prefect of the Municipalité Régionale de Comté (MRC) Vaudreuil-Soulanges and Mayor of Rivière-Beaudette is this year’s Honourary President.

Filling vacant positions

As the region’s population continues to grow annually, local employers are eager to find suitable candidates to fill vacant positions. The annual Salon is the perfect venue for employees and employers to meet and discuss job opportunities.

Companies from various industries will offer prospective candidates a wide range of positions and job seekers will have unparalleled access to hundreds of specialized and semi-skilled jobs, particularly in the manufacturing, services, transportation, retail, and health care sectors.

Job posting board

Job seekers will also have access to the job posting board which enables employers and potential candidates to consult online job offers through Emploi-Québec. A bus service will be available to bring people to the job fair. A photocopy service will also be available for printing résumés and other presentation materials. All of these services, including access to the Salon, are free for job seekers.

There will also be an online virtual job fair on Thursday, October 4 that will allow participating employers to meet potential candidates from outside the region from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. It will be accessible through the SalonVirtuel.ca platform.
