Pipeline information event

Do you live close to a pipeline or near the tracks where freight trains pass? Would you like to know how to reduce the risk of drinking water contamination? Les Citoyens au Courant invite you learn more at an event Saturday, September 8 from 12 to 5 p.m. at the Community Centre located at 2842 rue Principale in Sainte-Justine-de-Newton. Le Show Courant will feature music, kids’ activities, corn roast, bar, and five experts who will talk about the protection of drinking water, the risks caused by the transport of hydrocarbons, and citizen involvement. Les Citoyens au Courant will launch a new project called citoyensenvigile.org that encourages citizens to monitor activity round the pipelines and the freight trains. Guests include musicians and singers Noémie Sheila Rioux and Sylvain Poirier along with expert speakers on various environmental topics. Free entry, everyone welcome.
