Letter to the editor 2, August 30, 2018
As the Artistic Director and co-founder of the Hudson Music Festival (HMF), I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people who made the 12th edition of HMF a very successful, capacity filled, and exciting week of great music.
HMF could not put on this week of music and art without the continued support of the Town of Hudson, Caisse Desjardins de Vaudreuil-Soulanges, MacDougall, MacDougall & MacTier, Hawkesbury Ford, MRC Vaudreuil Soulanges, CLD, Heritage Canada, and many more. A very special thank you goes out to Nancy and Mavis from the 2 Barn Owls and Gobeil Dickison for the use of the concert space at the Mews.
HMF is also very proud to work with many businesses and organizations in the Hudson core, especially Cunningham’s Pub, Chateau du Lac, Traverse Oka-Hudson, the Hudson Yacht Club, Auberge Willow, and more…
I would also like to thank Laura McCaffrey and Nicolas Pedneault from the town of Hudson for their work and collaboration on the Street Fair, which is a pivotal part of the HMF week of music.
Perhaps most importantly, without all of our incredible volunteers, led by Gail Crissinger, the wonderful and creative work of our summer employee, Cai Mitchell, and the tireless work of the HMF Board of Directors, Scott Lawrence, Peter Freud, Jennifer Baumeister, Mona Awad, Laura Gobeil and Lynda Clouette-Mackay, I think that very little would have happened at all.
A big thank you must go to the festival goers, local, regional and from afar, and to our faithful pass holders, for continuing to support the cultural vision of HMF.
Finally, what makes HMF truly exceptional are the extraordinary artists, local, regional, national and international, that bring their exceptional talents to our Ultimate Intimate Festival.
Please follow us for all the HMF music events outside of the summer week, and stay tuned in for the 2019 edition.
