Two people were transported to hospital following an accident in Hudson August 13 just after 5 p.m.
“We got the call about a vehicle lying on its side on Main Road,” said Sûreté du Québec (SQ) spokesperson Sgt. Ingrid Asselin. “The two people in the vehicle were seriously injured but we don’t fear for their lives.”
“The vehicle severed a Hydro pole before landing on its side,” said Assistant Fire Chief Daniel Leblanc adding there was no interruption in electricity to the area.
Fourteen Hudson firefighters responded to the scene and, after stabilizing the vehicle, were able to remove the occupants from the rear hatch. Leblanc said use of the ‘jaws of life’ wasn’t necessary.
The cause of the accident has yet to be determined.
“Accident scene reconstruction investigators were on site and the street remained closed until about 10 p.m.,” said Asselin. “There have been no arrests as it hasn’t been established if there has been a criminal infraction.”
