Letter to the editor 1, May 31, 2018

Dear Editor,

There have been several protests in front of the International Toxicology Research (ITR) Laboratories in Baie d’Urfé since the investigative news show W5 (CTV) aired “In the name of science,” video footage filmed secretively showing the terrible situation of the lab animals – mishandled, mistreated, thrown, hit, and then barbarically killed. Young Beagles (dogs), monkeys, pigs, etc. The citizens have had enough! Calls to report and complain have been made to the ministry responsible for the wellbeing of animals, as well as the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) and the Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC).

We want animal testing to stop and the animals released and fines given for the cruelty. There is another protest Friday, June 1, from 3 to 6 p.m. at ITR Laboratories, 19601 Avenue Clark Graham, Baie d’Urfé.

M. Coniglio
