At its annual Christmas Dinner held on December 5 at the St-Zotique Golf Club, the Association des gens d’action de Vaudreuil-Soulanges (AGAVS) confirmed over 15 families, identified by the Centre d’action bénévole l’Actuel and Soulanges, will receive baskets of gifts and groceries to bring them relief this Christmas.

Presented by Multi-Centre Saint-Charles, over 50 guests took part in the event, which marked the culmination of a series of networking activities organized by the association. Over $8,000 was raised over the year to support families in need right here in Vaudreuil-Soulanges.

A video put together by photographer Christian Gonzalez accompanied singer Julie Massicotte’s rendition of the famous Ginette Reno song entitled “L’essentiel”. Accompanied on the piano by Lucie Cauchon, this touching moment perfectly captured what drives the AGAVS to pursure its philanthropic activities; the families in Vaudreuil-Soulanges who find themselves burning both ends of the candle to make ends meet. To view the video, visit the association’s Facebook page @agavs.

The montage conviced 32 guests to make a donation to add to the Christmas campaign funds, enabling the association to help one more family this year! Three companies also chose to sponsor a family by each contributing 500 $. Thank you to Conteneurs Experts, Sanivac and El Hornelo their generosity.

Those who wish to volunteer on December 20, to help prepare the baskets that will be given to families, can sign-up online at www.agavs.ca.
