Three more Pincourt councillor candidates in the running

District 4 – Claude Comeau

Hello, please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Claude Comeau and I am running for District 4 City Councillor.

  • I have been a resident of Pincourt my entire life and have volunteered on numerous committees over the years.

  • I have served on the city council for two mandates from 2002 – 2009 and during that time I was President of the technical department and served on the Régie d’eau.

  • I have recently retired and would like to devote my time serving the community and voicing the concerns of the citizens to the town such as continuing to stabilize the taxes and other projects such as revisiting the possibility of an indoor pool.

I would like to ask for your support in the upcoming election. If I passed by while you were out please do not hesitate to contact me and it would be my pleasure to speak with you.

District 5 - Claudine Girouard Morel

Hello,

It is with pleasure that I introduce myself to you today as candidate for nomination as city counsellor of district 5 of the town of Pincourt, the election being held on November 5th 2017.

I was born and raised in Ville Île Perrot and have been in Pincourt resident for 37 years. I firmly believe that I can contribute in a positive way to the municipal organization; I would like to participate in conserving the quality of life of the citizens while maintaining a healthy management.

My professional path has led me to develop strengths and abilities in financial management and human resources. Presently retired from Charles River Laboratories, being responsible of « Credit, Collection and Customer accounts » department for many years.

My participation in a democratic life represents a major stake for me as a woman, it is imperative that we attain a man-woman parity. To attain parity in a municipal council, we owe it to ourselves as female citizens to be implicated in political life so that our institutions are representative of our population.

It is also important for me to share a part of my personal life; I am a mother of two adult children and grandmother of four grandchildren. The family values have always been important to me my entire life.

Coming from a large family, I perceive the family as being the core of our communities and have always put forth my role as a mother volunteering in different areas like school, sports and other activities.

In hoping to have the opportunity to use my abilities as your municipal counsellor, looking forward to meeting you soon and wishing you a good municipal election 2017!

My values/ideas as councillor:

  • To be available and to listen to the needs of the citizens

  • Prioritize the safety of pedestrians and cyclists in the territory

  • Take action towards allowing sustainable development taking into consideration the economic effects

  • Maintaining and developing the projects in progress concerning ‘Social Development’

  • Looking at the improvement of the municipal Infrastructure related to sports and recreation

  • Focus on the town’s strengths and assets

  • Collaborate with the team of councillors in place

District 2 - Marc Dagenais

I was born in Pincourt and am currently in remission from cancer. I share my time to help people in need and I am a caregiver to my mother.

I’m seeking the support of the citizens of District 2 for the second time.

During the last municipal elections in 2013 I presented myself with the slogan A voice for you. My new slogan is A voice for you and all together we will succeed.

  • In the event that I am elected, I promise changes.

  • I want to be there for my fellow citizens. Once a month I will dedicate time for people who want to discuss their preoccupations or suggestions.

  • Give the youth a place to meet and exchange ideas

  • Services for the elderly who have loss of autonomy

  • Free transportation service for the elderly

  • And the addition of more dog parks
