Following his terms in office, former Vaudreuil-Dorion Mayor Réjean Boyer stayed active in community issues, most notably his work with the Citizens’ Committee for a Hospital in Vaudreuil-Soulanges.
The Municipalité régionale de comté Vaudreuil-Soulanges (MRC-VS) issued a communiqué this week expressing its condolences and sharing the news of the death of former Vaudreuil-Dorion Mayor Réjean Boyer who served in the post from 1985 to 1989 and 1998 to 2005.
Mr. Boyer was the first representative of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC at the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal (CMM) as well as serving on numerous committees in the MRC, including the revision of the land use and development plan. Mr. Boyer has greatly contributed to the development of the region, particularly in terms of culture.
"In my name and in the name of my elected colleagues, I extend my deepest sympathies to Mr. Boyer's family and friends,” said MRC-VS Prefect and Très-Saint-Rédempteur Mayor Jean A. Lalonde. “I had the pleasure and privilege of working with him for many years throughout the MRC. He was a most appreciated colleague.”
