New government investments totaling nearly $3 million will be spent during the year 2017 to ensure that the maintenance of the schools is kept up to date in the riding of Soulanges. In total, nearly 13 renovation projects will be realized thanks to the funds granted by the Government of Quebec.

Lucie Charlebois, Minister responsible for the Montérégie region and Member of Parliament for Soulanges, made the announcement during her visit to the Auclair School in Saint-Lazare, on behalf of the Minister of Education Sébastien Proulx. This school will receive $751,146 in funding for the renovation of the building.

The planned investments in the regular and additional measures to maintain the buildings and to reduce the maintenance deficit for the school year 2016-2017 will enable 10 schools to carry out 13 renovation or maintenance projects for school buildings. Some of the work that can be done is the upgrading of buildings; repair of roofs; replacement of doors, windows and sanitary installations; and improving the heating, ventilation or plumbing system.
