Competing in their first ever Quebec Games, the 4 Cities ringette team brings home the gold before competing in the Provincial championships this weekend.
For the first time in 32 years in the sport of ringette, girls aged 14 to 16, many of them playing since they were five, and all living in St. Lazare, Vaudreuil-Dorion, Hudson, and Île-Perrot, have returned with gold after competing in their first ever showing at the recent Quebec Games (Jeux du Québec) in Quebec City.
Coached by Danny Wand, Marc Prieur, Marie-Eve Wand, and Éric LeBlanc, their team - the 4 Cities - faced off against Laval in the final, winning 3-2 in overtime sudden death, with the winning goal scored just in time by Hudsonite Justine Carrière.
This weekend, the team is off to Gatineau for the Provincials tournament where 15 teams from all over Quebec will be participating.
