Open letter to Hans-Karl Muhlegg

I have never had the pleasure of meeting you sir, but it doesn’t take much research to see that you are a savvy businessman that has been involved in many successful companies.

But I have to wonder, to hope, that perhaps, you may have a soft spot in your heart for this beach and nature area. You have been kind enough for many years to share this property with so many people. Your development could have started long, long ago. Perhaps you were waiting for the right opportunity to build. Perhaps you were waiting for the right buyer, (maybe even the town of Hudson)? Or perhaps you simply have other reasons.

But as we approach this information session, and the undoubted Pandora’s Box the start of this development will open, I ask you, on behalf of the over 1300 people who have signed the petition thus far, to consider taking this opportunity to be the man who “SAVED” the Sandy Beach nature area instead of the man who took it away.

Please consider giving us the opportunity, and the time, needed to get the purchase of this nature park off the ground. I think there is much potential to get this done with the assistance of our municipal, regional, provincial, and federal governments, as well as conservation groups and/or private funding. So few of us are fortunate enough have the opportunity to make such a gesture, to leave such a legacy, I hope you’ll consider it.
