Peter Schiefke re-appointed as Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister for Youth
Peter Schiefke, Member of Parliament for Vaudreuil-Soulanges and Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister for Youth has been appointed for a second term as a Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister for Youth by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Mr. Schiefke’s re-appointment is part of a recent reshuffle performed by the Prime Minister. The appointment allows him to keep the conversation going with young Canadians from coast, to coast, to coast, maintaining a dialogue between Canada’s youth and the highest levels of our Government.
‘’I feel incredibly privileged to once again be able to serve our Government and Canada’s Youth as Parliamentary Secretary," said Schiefke. "The reality is that the investments we make in Canada's Youth are investments in the future strength and prosperity of our country.’’
As his first engagement following the re-appointment as Parliamentary Secretary, Mr. Schiefke will travel to Pond Inlet, Nunavut from January 30th through February 2nd where he will meet with Prime Minister Youth Council Member Rachel Smale, local youth groups and communities leaders living in traditional Inuit community on the northern tip of Baffin Island. The discussions will touch upon how climate change is affecting the way of life in the community, how the Government can better serve youth in Pond Inlet, and issues of importance shared by the local community.
