Updated - Two gunshot deaths in Vaudreuil-Dorion may be linked to organized crime

Police confirm two men in their 40s are dead following an incident on Montée Alstonvale just below the intersection of Moffat Street. and the suspect, or suspects, are still at large.

SQ spokesperson Sgt. Ingrid Asselin revealed that preliminary elements of the investigation looks like the deaths may be linked to organized crime and said both victims died from gunshot wounds. "We were called to the scene just before1 p.m.," said Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Sgt. Ingrid Asselin. "A man had suffered critical injuries." The victim died shortly after being transported to an area hospital.

A second was located soon after in the vicinity with critical injuries and he also was pronounced dead in hospital.. He too succumbed to his injuries. Tactical squad officers were on the scene along with a canine unit and a helicopter searching the area. Forensic investigators were still there the following morning.

Police haven't yet released the names of the victims or revealed the link between them.
