Volunteer for Relay!

The strength of a Relay For Life comes from values such as respect, support and generosity. In Vaudreuil-Soulanges, a dedicated team of nearly 20 volunteers is already working to prepare the new edition of the Relay For Life. Within the organizing committee, everyone is essential to create a successful event, whether it’s logistics, hosting, team building, accounting, etc. It’s with dedication that all of these actors play an essential role to raise public awareness and further the fight against cancer. Moreover, thanks to the diversity and strength of each individual, the Relay For Life becomes a unique work tinged with hope. So if you also want to have an impact in the fight against all cancers, or if you simply want to gain a project management experience, feel free to join our team. Some places are still available. For information or to express your interest, call 450 692-5110 or jlevesque@quebec.cancer.ca.

A real impact

The strength in number is what drives the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS). Each day, the Canadian Cancer Society is working to save more lives. With thousands of Quebecers, donors and volunteers, it works to prevent more cancers, enable our researchers to do more discoveries and help more people living with the disease.

More research

In 2015, over $7.3 million was given by the CCS to fund 92 innovative projects in Montreal, Quebec City and Sherbrooke. Since it began funding research in 1940, the CCS has invested $1.3 billion in projects that have changed cancer prevention and treatment.

More support Our service centers have lent 6500 wigs throughout the province. The CCS provides support services to cancer patients throughout Quebec. Thanks to you, we can help more people by being present in 55 cities.

More prevention To prevent skin cancer, the CCS Sun Squads leaders visit schools and day camps to inform young people about the dangers of tanning; your involvement allows us to educate 500,000 young people of the UV dangers each year. Your support has helped bring down the number of young smokers by 33% to 12% in 15 years, thanks to laws that are more effective on tobacco. We are all part of the solution. Together, let’s save more lives.
