PHOTO PERMISSION GREENWOOD'S STORYFEST 2016

Award-winning Alberta-based writer Marina Endicott will make a special appearance for StoryFest on Thursday, October 20 at Hudson Village Theatre at 7.30 p.m.

After three highly successful weeks of StoryFest, we head into the fourth and final week with great anticipation.

The week starts off Thursday night, October 20, with Alberta-based writer Marina Endicott, prizewinning author of four novels. Her second novel Good to a Fault won the 2009 Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for Canada and was shortlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize. Her third novel The Little Shadows was shortlisted for the Governor General's Literary Award for fiction. For StoryFest, Endicott will discuss, and read from, her newest novel, Close to Hugh.

Then next Monday, October 24, the film Love and Friendship will be shown at the Hudson Village Theatre at 2 and 7:30 p.m. The film is based on an unfinished novella written by Jane Austen, and has been called, “…pure pleasure, and one of the best movies of the year.”

On Thursday, October 27, international commentator, military historian, author and columnist Gwynne Dyer will speak at Hudson’s St. James Church Hall at 7:30 p.m. Dyer’s latest book is Don’t Panic: Islamic State Terrorism and the Middle East.

And for the grand finale, there will be a very special appearance by the multiple Governor General Award winning author Guy Vanderhaeghe (Daddy Lenin; The Last Crossing; The Englishman’s Boy) on October 29. The event is a breakfast at Hudson’s St. James Church Hall.

Tickets for StoryFest events are available online at www.greenwoodstoryfest.com, at Pure Art, 422 Main Road, and at the door, when available. Please note that that only a few tickets remain for the Vanderhaeghe and Dyer events.

A very special thank you to all of you who have supported Greenwood’s StoryFest over the past 15 years. We are thrilled to have been able to bring such wonderful writers to Hudson.

Hudson Village Theatre is located at 28 Wharf Rd., Hudson QC J0P 1H0.
