Another strong showing of community support for WIPCR
The 6th Annual Golf Tournament of the West Island Palliative Care Residence, which was held on August 29, 2016 at the prestigious Royal Montreal Golf Club, generated net profits of $256,000 for the Residence.
As Teresa Dellar, Executive Director and Co-Founder of the West Island Palliative Care Residence said following the announcement of the results: “There truly is no greater gift than assuring someone’s care as they are dying. Our patients are dying surrounded by love, compassion, with dignity and with their family and friends because of your support. Everyone should have the right to die with superior palliative care in their community. Your participation in this golf tournament, is precious and priceless.”
The Residence receives one-third of its operational budget from the Quebec government and relies on community support and fundraising activities to raise the balance of more than 3 million dollars. The community plays a crucial role in contributing the financial resources that allows the Residence to provide its care and services to all our patients free of charge.
Major sponsors of the event included: Stephen and Nancy Molson, RBC, Quinn Sport Management, OEC Group, Banque Nationale, Cobra Puma Golf Canada, Château Vaudreuil, BMW West Island and a friend of the Residence.
