New challenges for the Council for Arts and Culture of Vaudreuil-Soulanges
On Wednesday, June 8, at the Musée régional de Vaudreuil-Soulanges, the Council for Arts and Culture of Vaudreuil-Soulanges (CACVS) held its Annual General Meeting. The organization took this opportunity to inform the cultural background of happy and recent changes in the CACVS. If, in the past, the CACVS advised the MRC of Vaudreuil-Soulanges on the implementation of its cultural policy, they recently became the carrier body. Just as the CLD Vaudreuil-Soulanges is responsible for economic development in the region, the CACVS must plan the regional cultural development in consultation with different backgrounds.
"The purpose of this transfer mandate is to experiment an innovative procedure to position itself for a new management and governance of culture, and in the path of sustainable development," says John A . Lalonde, Mayor of Most Holy Redeemer and prefect of the MRC of Vaudreuil-Soulanges.
Thus the CACVS work with the municipal, social, economic, environmental and, of course, with the cultural world, the development of arts and culture in Vaudreuil-Soulanges. This way of working in synergy with the different sectors of activity fits into the mission of CACVS as in the vision proposed by the new cultural policy of the MRC developed in the path of sustainable development.
