Dr. Jean Rodrigue receives a prestigious award


Doctor Jean Rodrigue, public health director of Montérégie, was awarded the Career Recognition Persillier-Lachapelle award, awarded by the Minister of Health and Social Services, Mr. Gaétan Barrette. The award ceremony took place on June 2 in Quebec City.

The general practitioner graduated in 1972, and holds a Masters in Community Health from the Faculty of Medicine from the University of Montreal. Dr. Rodrigue worked, throughout his career, at all levels of the health and social services. He was one of the first doctors to work in a CLSC. He worked as Deputy Director of General Planning and regionalization to the Quebec Federation of General Practitioners (FMOQ). He has also held important positions in the Agency of Health and Social Services in the Montérégie region, both as director of medical affairs and assistant general manager. He was Assistant Deputy Minister of Health and Social Services from 2011 to 2012. Since 2014, he served as director of public health function of Montérégie.
