College de Valleyfield participants win second place at intercollegiate science contest

On April 30 , three students of the Mechanical Engineering Technology program from the Collège de Valleyfield, Ali Chokre (Vaudreuil), Alexis Boily (Vaudreuil) and Charles-Olivier Bérubé (Beauharnois), won 2nd place at the 24th national final of the intercollegiate science contest. Organized by the Cégep de Trois-Rivières, this intercollegiate science competition brought together 32 finalists from CEGEPs that have attempted to complete the "Turnaround" challenge. It required to build a vehicle that makes a round trip using wind energy in one direction and the gravitational potential energy into another. About 300 spectators were treated to original and ingenious benefits. Besides having to apply scientific and technical knowledge, the finalists were to popularize the various concepts to the jury and the public came to encourage them.
