Letter to the editor 2, July 3, 2015

Dear Editor,

Regarding Mr. Elliot’s beef about being compelled to remove the stones on the edge of his property to prevent trucks from making ruts, (Letters to the Editor, Your Local Journal, June 25) I do believe that the town of Hudson owns several feet from the road edge up to all property lines.

Nobody has the right to place obstructions in that area. Last year I was driving down Cameron and was forced to swerve onto the side of the road where there were triangle blocks place to prevent drivers from using it. A truck barreling up Cameron on the wrong side of the road barely missed my car and I was fortunate that there were two inches before I would have run into the blocks.

I wondered who would have been responsible for the damage to my car and myself - Hudson who had allowed those bricks to remain for months or the irresponsible owner who placed more value on the condition of “his” lawn than the safety of drivers.
