I was looking back on the Hudson Fire Department (HFD) Shave-2-Save this past April 25th and I am very pleased to announce we raised a grand total of $10,369.11. I never imagined it was possible, but my mind is changed forever.
As I look back I can see how we got there… and it wasn’t on our own; it was because of the wonderful community in which we live. Our friends and family have supported our cause and I would like to take this time to thank those who made this day possible… Centre Décor Hudson who stepped up as our first sponsor, donating, in raffle contributions and supplying Stephanie, our incredible face painter. For their awesome donations to the Raffle Table; Hudson Music Fest, Piscine & Spa Hudson, Salon Veronique, Pepper Master, Fraser McBain, As Kneaded, Debbie Keillar, Mon Village, Woot, Alena Kirby, Clarence and Cripps, IGA Poirier, Willow Inn, Depanneur Shaar, Hotte Ford, Brian and Nikki Gallagher, Hollandia, Mikko, Pure Serenity, Façade, Aladin Candy Shop, Chatelaine, Jaida, Stephanie’s Face Painting, Karen Goldberg, Cunningham’s Pub, Centre Décor Hudson, Le Cozy Café, Au Naturel Soy Candles, Chris Jager. The best raffle table I have ever seen. For the awesome food supplied for the day; LeBaron Bites Pizza and Cunningham’s famous wings.
To the HFD Wives Club and their tasty creations for the bake table. A really big thank you for all the heads donated, 46 this year…young and not so young, guys and gals alike, and the lovely ladies of Chatelaine who did the shaving - without you the shave would not have happened. I want to thank the musicians of the day; The Hudson Music Fest Band, The Steel Tuques; and Perpetrator.
Another part of our success is the coverage we were able to get from Your Local Journal…you have been paramount in helping us spread the word and keeping the community abreast of our goals, desires and achievements… and the local radio stations that gave us a plug! Lastly I need to thank those who donated, supported us one way or another and made all this possible.
The community that we live in is a special one. We are looking forward to the challenge again next year. After the success this year we have quite a hill to climb, but we are relying on all of you to be there for us again, as I am sure you will. Together we can bring an end to cancer.
Thank you so much,
